Hopkinsville Golf and Country Club in Hopkinsville, KY, is searching for a Food and Beverage manager for our facility. Position is unique in that the individual hired will be responsible for banquets, bar operations as well as front and back of house in the food operation.
We are a small club with fewer than 400 members, located in a small city. This means our members have few upscale options available to them for dining and entertainment, making the food and beverage operation a critical metric in measuring the ability of the club to successfully meet member’s needs.
✔ Take full charge of banquet operations. Selling, planning, set up and execution of events. Weddings, showers, corporate meetings and outings are a large portion of our overall revenue stream.
✔ Hire, train and directly supervise all food and beverage staff assigning and at times performing tasks as needed.
✔ Schedule staff to meet demands while managing budget and costs.
✔ Maintain and control all inventory – food, beverage, supplies and reusable items such as cutlery, glassware, china, etc.
✔ Must be able to understand and manage the P&L statement.
✔ Responsible for cost of goods, labor, and general expenses of food and beverage operations.
✔ Lead food and beverage team by example, creating a fun and stable work environment. Set benchmarks for performance and recognize and celebrate team member success. Manage team in a professional and respectful manner at all times.
✔ Ensure superior standards for food service which are at all times meeting and exceeding needs and expectations of our members.
✔ Drive food safety and cleanliness efforts in the food and beverage operation. ✔ ✔ Responsible for ensuring full compliance with all state health and safety regulations including the maintaining of 90% or higher health department ratings at all times.
✔ Club will require and pay for a food safety and compliance training class if successful candidate does not hold current certification.
✔ Club will require and pay for an Alcohol compliance training course if successful candidate does not hold current certification.
✔ Bachelor’s degree preferred but work experience can substitute.
✔ Minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar role, or in food service roles of growing responsibility and scope over time leading to this position.
✔ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
